Change In Management
Listen up children, this stuff’s important!
Nukamod has come to the decision that she needs to step down.
This decision’s been a long time in coming, but it needed to be made before too much more time passed. I’ll speak candidly (and in first person!): running the Big Bang last year was a great experience. I’m so glad to have had the opportunity to help make it happen, but it really wouldn’t have happened without all of you who participated. It was a rocky start at points, and a learning experience, but we pulled it off, and the Fallout fandom gained some fantastic stories and art from it.
I am at a different job than I was last year and my schedule is currently too unpredictable to commit to running an event like this for three months, not to mention the preparation time necessary to make it all happen.
Besides that, if something like this is going to continue and thrive, I think it’s best for it not to rest all in one person’s hands. If there’s enough interest and enthusiasm to make it happen again this year, then I’m sure the right person will step forward to pull it together. And if not, that’s okay. There’s always next year. Fandoms go through cycles of activity, and though we have quiet stretches, things will pick up again.
Anyone interested in taking up the torch can contact email@example.com. It’s a lot of work to run a Big Bang, but it’s also fun and rewarding. Let me know if you have any related experience, but it’s not a requirement—I didn’t have any Big Bang experience at all when I started this! I’ll review any queries I get and try to hand it off as soon as possible. I will give the new mod all the account information, all my notes and any info I can provide to help them succeed.
Thank you again, everyone.
